Speaker 1:

Hi, this is Whitney and you're listening to Exploring Peace Meditations. I invite you to find a posture in which you can breathe deeply and remain present. I like to practice Centering Prayer in a supported seated posture, sometimes on a bolster or on the floor, with my legs crossed and my back against the wall, or in a chair supported by your seat blankets, whatever you need. I invite you to quiet your mind with me and surrender to God's presence with you. Allow yourself to focus on your breath, breathing naturally and gently, watching and sensing the flow of your breath in and out of your body. Feel the sensation of your breath and allow it to ground you.

Speaker 1:

As we begin this time of prayer, our theme today is Seek. We choose to seek God with an open heart and mind, seeking to know God's love, wisdom and grace. Perhaps you'll use the word seek as your anchor word today, or use any word that anchors and grounds you in the sacred. This anchor word or sacred word invites you to come back. Come back to your prayer when you feel distracted or taken away in the quiet. Simply utter your sacred word Slowly, take a deep breath and be present. As we begin, I'll invite you to repeat your sacred word, to focus on this longing to seek God. You might even imagine yourself reaching out to God, seeking a deeper connection with your Creator. So pause now and begin to offer that word Seek. With each exhale, breathe out your sacred word, give yourself permission to let the words fade away and, during this time of quiet centering, simply be with God. If thoughts arise or distractions occur, use your sacred word or use your breath to anchor and be and seek God in the quiet. Now look into to God's needs.

Speaker 1:

God, thank you for the opportunity to see a deeper connection with you through our presence. May the seeking always be a journey of love, grace and understanding. And may we be reminded that seeking doesn't always mean actively searching for answers, but surrendering to the mystery. Help us carry your peace and wisdom into our day and beyond. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, we pray Amen and Amen. You'll slowly bring your awareness back to the present moment. Open your eyes and find a few deep breaths. Take a moment before you return to your day to reflect on this centering prayer experience. What does the quiet feel like? There's not a right or wrong answer, Any insights you may have gained during your time of presence and being with God.

Speaker 1:

Remember, centering prayer is a practice and it may take time to develop, to welcome the silence and let go of the thoughts. The key is to be patient with yourself and the practice. May you find your sacred word when you need it today. May you always be reminded that God is near. Thank you for exploring the gift of God's peace with me.
