Hi , this is Whitney and you're listening to Exploring Peace Meditations . Today's practice is Centering Prayer , as we gather . I invite you to release any distractions , turn your phone on silence , shut the door whatever you need to take just a bit of quiet . Door whatever you need to take , just a bit of quiet . Our theme today invites you again into embodied prayer in a quiet , contemplative way . Embodiment invites us to merge our physical selves with our spiritual selves . When we practice embodied prayer , we're listening , quieting our whole selves , inviting a connection between our inner selves and our outer selves . We draw close to God through embodiment and prayer .
Speaker 1As you settle in , find a comfortable position in which you can stay alert and also find stillness and quiet . You may choose to sit comfortably in a chair , with your feet on the floor or against a wall , feet on the floor or against a wall , on the floor on your mat , cross-legged , wherever you find yourself . Shoulders relaxed , spine is long , head is tall . Allow a few deep breaths to move in and out of your body . Breathe as you listen to Isaiah 30 , 15 . For thus says the Lord , the Holy One of Israel , in returning and rest , you shall be saved . In quietness and in trust shall be your strength In the next 10 minutes to follow . We will enter the quiet with God on purpose .
Speaker 1Allow the music to be your anchor . Allow the breath to be your anchor . If you have a centering word , hold space for that . When your mind wanders , use your word . It might be light , peace . Breathe , yahweh . Take a moment to see if a centering word rises up for you today as your anchor . And when you're ready , softly close your eyes if you haven't already . Take a full breath in and a long breath out . Allow yourself to be fully present in your body and in this sacred moment . Thank you , I'm going to take a few more minutes . Thank you , I'm going to take a deep breath .
Speaker 2So so Thank you , I'm going to take a deep breath . The Thank you for watching . No-transcript .
Speaker 1Now gently return your awareness to your breath , to your whole self , to the space you're in , to the ground beneath you and , when you're ready , take a full breath in and a long breath out . Creator , god , thank you for stillness and strength . Thank you for breath and life and these bodies you give to us . Thank you for rest and quietness . May we carry forth the quiet that we've practiced today , noticing whatever we sense or feel in our bodies or our minds , whether it be ease or challenge . May we receive it with gratitude and carry forth your presence with us beyond this time . In your holy name we pray Amen . Thank you for the opportunity to practice stillness and quiet with our whole selves before God today . May you carry this peace and presence with you throughout your day .
