Together, we'll explore a breath prayer from Fully Human, Fully Divine, inviting God's Spirit to fill us with peace this Advent season.

This is a time when we prepare our hearts, our minds, our spirits for the coming of Christ at Christmas. Our focus this week is peace, god's gift of peace. And so, as you begin to find a comfortable posture to simply pause whether it's a seated meditation, a reclined posture or your favorite yoga shape just take a moment and hold that word peace. And I'll take a moment to remind you that, if you're longing for more peace, you can find more prayers and meditations like this one at exploringpeacecom. Take a moment and close your eyes or soften your gaze and then notice your breath For the next breath. Breathe in fully through your nose and exhale completely through your mouth as you breathe.

Speaker 1:

Listen to Psalm 2911 in the Common English Bible. Let the Lord give strength to His people. Let the Lord bless His people with peace. Peace. You, my friends, are the Lord's people, and so I invite you to pause with me as we hold this word peace today, this breath, prayer I share with you is from my book, fully Human, fully Divine, and we're simply going to breathe in spirit and breathe out. Fill me with peace. And so, as we pause in the quiet over the next few minutes with your inhale, ask God today fill me with peace. These words may shift, they may evolve, they may change from the ones I offer you, but breathe and listen and pause, pause with God's peace, asking God to fill you with that peace today.

Speaker 1:

Inhale, spirit, exhale. Fill me with peace. Repeat this over the next few moments Spirit, fill me with peace. I'm going to receive God's peace in your in this season. Take a moment and see if you can feel, sense, see or notice peace within yourself, not because you are the master of peace, but because God is. What does it feel like to embody God's today? Loving God, thank you for the gift of peace. Thank you for the gift of Jesus. Please continue to pour your spirit upon us this season. Pour your Spirit upon us this season. Fill us with your peace. In your holy name we pray. Amen, until next time. May God's peace be with you.
