Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
This isn't just a silent meditation recording but an invitation to ongoing practice and accountability of holding space together in God's presence.
Whether you're seeking refuge from life's demands or deepening an established contemplative practice, this guided 20-minute time of Centering Prayer offers an intentional pause, one that resonates long after the silence ends. This meditation helps set an intention for your day, but it can be practiced at any time. Pause with Whitney, choose your sacred word, and be with God today, in every breath.

Hi, I'm Whitney and you're listening to Exploring Peace Meditations. You've found yourself in a centering prayer practice. If you've never practiced centering prayer before, or if 20 minutes feels like a long time today, scroll back into previous episodes of the podcast. You'll find 5, 10, and 15 minutes of silence in which we can hold space together. I find it very helpful to be accountable in my centering prayer practice, so I love that we can hold this space together.
Entering 20 Minutes of Silence
Speaker 1If you have a sacred word, bring that to mind. If you're unsure or haven't practiced with a word as an anchor before, consider a word Peace, joy, creator, breathe, spirit, love. Allow a word to rise to the surface for you this morning. Now check in with your posture. Are you tall, seated in a posture in which you can breathe fully and deeply, grounded in your chair or upon the earth? Drop your shoulders away from your ears, soften your gaze, connect with your breath. Remember that God is with you in every breath. I will pray, we'll enter into the silence for 20 minutes and at the end of our time, I'll close our prayer Loving God. Thank you for each breath we breathe. Thank you for the chance to pause to start this fresh new day with you centered, grounded and breathing in your presence. No-transcript no-transcript.
Speaker 2No-transcript the Thank you. I'm going to take a few more minutes.
Closing the Prayer Practice
Connection and Community Invitation
Speaker 1Thank you. I'm going to take a few more minutes. Take a nice full, deep inhalation and a long, drawn-out, extended exhalation. Thank you, god, for being with us in each and every breath. In your name we pray, amen. I'd love to connect with you beyond this time. You can find me at WhitneyRSimpsoncom. There are other ways that we can be accountable and connect and pray and move together. Find those at exploringpeacecom. Slash community. Until next time, may God's peace be with you. I'm going to take a deep breath, thank you.
